Napsa Stars have announced the signing of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) top goal scorer Emmanuel Mayuka of Zambia.

He was part of the 2012 Afcon winning team.

The former Southampton striker joins Napsa on a permanent move after training with the Lusaka club for the last fortnight.

At Napsa, Mayuka reunites with coach Mohamed Fathi who coached him as a Zambia U20 star prospect 13 years ago at Kabwe Warriors.

“I know he is a fighter and people will soon see him player even before the six weeks programme that we have put him on to get back on track,” said Fathi.

The 29-year-old had stints in Israel, France and Switzerland, and arrives at Napsa after a brief spell at another Lusaka club, Green Buffaloes.
