Mamelodi Sundowns defender Ricardo Nascimento has commended his side for a decent start to the new season cruising on top of the DStv Premiership log standings.
Masandawana have played 10 league games, winning seven and drawing three, without a loss. They’ve only conceded five goals in all those matches.
The 33-year-old fills in at centre-back with tactical astute, demonstrating his value to his mentors as a brilliant squad player.
“I think we have a team that all helps in marking without the ball, that makes things easier for the defenders. At the end of the day, it is a team collective to defend and we have been doing that and it is our mission to make sure we continue,” Nascimento told the club’s official website.
“I feel that the team is more confident, the victories bring confidence and for us, it is to go out there and play well for the club and the supporters who are at home and can’t be at the stadium.”
The Brazilian defender believes that his partnership with Sundowns’ new signee Brian Onyango improves game after game and has yielded great results.
“With each game that passes our relationship gets better, he is a player with great potential,” he adds.
