The Limpopo Derby between Polokwane City and Black Leopards set for Sunday at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium will much likely have a bearing on the title relegation battle.
Both teams are on 20 points with the same goal difference (11) and maximum points will be a sigh of relief for either team with only 8 matches remaining.
‘Rise and Shine’ midfielder Wiseman Maluleke insists the friendships amongst the players remain outside of the field come Sunday.
“There is no sympathy. Normally we stay in the same compounds and City; however on the day what matters most is what’s at stake and that’s 3 points,” he told FARPost.
“We are well prepared and we know what we are coming up against so we are just waiting for the game to come and we will see what unfolds on the day. This game is much more of a six-pointer whereby when you win you move away from the relegation zone so we want to consolidate and move away as soon as possible,” he said.
City are coming into the match from a 3-2 win over Cape Town City in their last match while Leopards also registered a 2-0 Nedbank Cup win against minnows Amavarara.
