Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tinashe “The General” Nengomasha reckons that his former side has what it takes to win the Absa Premiership title this season.
Amakhosi are currently at the summit of log standings with 45 points from 19 games.
The Zimbabwe-born player told FARPost that looking at the way Chiefs are playing they would win the league.
“They are playing very well. They have strikers who are scoring goals and winning them games. I think and feel they can maintain the consistency and go all the way to win it.
“You should also know that the supporters have been waiting for too long now for a trophy and since this year they are celebrating 50 years, said the ‘General’.
“I think they deserve something from the team. I also think they have the right fighting mentality if you look at how they win some games in the dying minutes. That shows the hunger the players have and that’s what is helping then get the results,” added Nengomasha.
“It’s true there are other teams like Mamelodi Sundowns who can compete but they are also busy in Africa while Chiefs are concentrating mainly on the league and that gives them the advantage to win the league title and as I have said the supporters deserve something from the team this year to celebrate 50 years,” observed Nengomasha.
