Newly signed Baroka striker, Lungelo ‘Mbesuma’ Nguso arrives with a great reputation of banging goals from his ABC Motsepe League club, Bizana Pondo Chiefs.
Nguso was unveiled as a new signing by Bakgaga on Thursday and will be part of the squad that will be heading to the PSL Biological Safety Environment next week.
The 21-year-old is the current top-goal scorer in the Eastern Cape second-division with 20 goals from 22 matches.
“I am grateful and I can’t even explain how happy I am to get a chance to play in the Premier Soccer League,” Nguso told FARPost.
“I will try to do more for Baroka I cannot disappoint the club because they believe in my talent, so I want to give them what they want and that is to score as many goals as I can,” he said.
On being nicknamed after Zambian striker Collin Mbesuma who made his name after scoring 25 League goals for Kaizer Chiefs in 2005, the lanky striker says he aims to do more than what the currents AmaTuks striker achieved.
“I think I have all the attributes that Mbesuma has. We are almost the same, the body and the goals I score. My Chairman gave me this name after seeing me score in the SAB Leagues before I joined Pondo Chiefs. What makes me happy is to play in the PSL at my age and this will inspire me to improve more, who knows? Maybe one day I will play for the national team or go abroad, you never know.” Said Nguso.
Baroka have also promoted four other youngster from the MDC team in Bernard Bobbed, Nimrod Mpe, Tshego Molapo and Thuso Mogale.
