Ryan Rae is confident Chippa United are ready to face a wounded Kaizer Chiefs side this evening in the DStv Premiership at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Kickoff is shielded for 19:30.
The defender made his Chippa debut at the weekend in the 1-1 against Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership opener and he hopes to get another run-out.
“I am looking forward to my first home game,” said Rae, who joined the Chilli Boys on a three-year deal following his departure from Highlands Park, whose status has been sold to TS Galaxy.
“As a Chippa United player, I have also been looking forward to playing at this magnificent venue [Nelson Mandela Bay] that I now call home,” added Rae.
“We know that our fans will be alongside us even though they will be watching us on television instead of being at the field.”
While Chiefs stumbled to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, Chippa were impressive in the draw against the Citizens and Lehlohonolo Seeema’s charges will be eager to cause an upset at home tonight.
