Paris Saint-Germain FC star Neymar Jr. says he can’t wait to return to action and says not knowing when football will resume is making him anxious.
Ligue 1 has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak and the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) have confirmed that they plan to re-start the season on June 17.
However, the LFP is now awaiting the deconfinement procedures that the government will announce at the end of April, and in particular the conditions under which the matches could be played behind closed doors.
The Brazil star admits that he misses football and has expanded his training routine, for a productive return to action.
Before the Ligue 1 season was halted in March, Neymar scored 18 goals in 22 matches for PSG.
“I miss football, really! I’m sure the crowd also wants to see everyone back on the pitch as soon as possible. I hope the decision comes out as soon as possible,” added the former Barcelona player.
According to Neymar Jr.’s physical trainer, Ricardo Rosa, it is imperative to understand the athlete’s environment.
“I try to relieve this pressure by controlling training loads and controlling food habits. Everything for him to improve and evolve, more and more, in his performance.”
Neymar trusts Rosa to ensure that he remains fit and in shape. “Rica is my partner in football and in life.
“His work is very important in my career. We have worked together for many years, so he knows exactly the type of work I need to do to be in the best possible condition on a match day”, explained Neymar Jr.
