After dropping five points from their previous two matches against GladAfrica Championship pace-setters, Bizana Pondo Chiefs will meet another contender for promotion in the form of Royal AM at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday (tomorrow) Kick-off 15h30.

The Indomitable Lions of Skomplaz held Richards Bay FC to a goalless stalemate before losing 1-0 to Sekhukhune United FC on Wednesday away from home.

Team Captain, Innocent Ngcobo is anticipating a difficult match against Royal AM but believes that they can still win this match. “It’s not going to be an easy game but we will try to get three points and keep the clean sheets of not losing at home in league matches. We learnt that, we are always playing on high tempo and lose focus towards the end of the game,” said Ngcobo.

He understands the significance of doing well in the upcoming encounter to improve their log position. “It’s a game that is very important to us. Knowing that they [Royal AM] are coming with three wins and two draws and they are fighting for promotion/playoffs, we need to work very hard against them”, concluded Ngcobo.

Pondo Chiefs are currently sitting second from bottom of the league standings after 17 matches, they have managed 14 points. Though they are yet to lose at home in the GladAfrica Championship this season.

This will be the second meeting between these two in all competitions. In the first leg 10 men Royal AM won 1-0 at Chatsworth Stadium on 17 February 2021.
