Former Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila midfielder Khunadi ‘Kaka’ Nkoana was laid to rest at Ga-Semenya outside of Polokwane on Sunday morning.
Nkoana passed away on Tuesday at Petersburg Provincial Hospital following a short-illness.
He was the only child at home and he is survived by his mother.
Observing the COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral was attended by family members, close friends and a few football personalities including Hlabane Kutumela, Lebogang Mabotja, Tlou Segolela, Jacky Ledwaba, Collins Makgaka, Raymond Monama, Richard Mashabane as well as his former coach and mentor, Sello Chokoe.
Speaking at the Funeral, Chokoe paid tribute to Nkoana and described him as a talented player who was just unfortunate not to play for one of the big teams or the national team.
Messages of condolences from football personalities such as Edgar Manaka, Thabiso Semenya, Thabiso Kutumela, Lantshene Phalane, Ndumiso Mabena, Jackson Mabokgwane, Menzi Masuku, Salulani Phiri, Aubrey Modiba, Letladi Madubanya, Dina Dhlomo, Judas Moseamedi, Vuyo Mere, Lebo Moloto, Matome Mathiane, Lerato Lamola, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Puleng Tlolane, Sammy Seabi, Lesedi Kapinga, Edward Motale, Mahlatse Makudubela, Thato Mokeke, Sydney Moshikaro, Tebogo Monyai and Vincent Kobola (coach) were read out during the funeral.
The 28-year-old is a product of the SAFA School of Excellence and he also played for Chippa United, Black Leopards and was currently in the books of Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Magesi FC when he met his untimely death.
