Former Black Leopards head coach Dylan Kerr has been spotted in at least two friendly matches of his former club recently, fueling speculation that he may be returning to the GladAfrica Championship side.
Kerr is currently unemployed after parting ways with Marumo Gallants upon the expiry of his short-term contract.
The 54-year-old was in attendance when Lidoda Duvha played Venda Football Academy in Seshego as well as Mamelodi Sundowns at the Ranch Hotel, both in Polokwane last week.
But the 2021 Nedbank cup winning coach has since clarified his presence at the club.
“I am still in Polokwane and when there is a football match, rather than sitting at home or go play Golf, I rather go watch football,” Kerr told FARPost.
“So, when I heard that Black Leopards were playing VFA it gave me a chance to go meet up with Johnny Ferreira whom I have known since I came to South Africa in 1986. Over the weekend, I got in contact with Rulani (Mokwena) and asked him if it was okay to come and watch training. Again, they were playing Leopards but they also played Polokwane City,” he said.
“The options that I got are very interesting but I am in no rush. I have done what I have to do at TTM (Marumo) and the next move is in the planning. People will make things up but the one of me going back to Black Leopards that will never happen.
“Although I have so much respect for David (Thidiela) and the club it is not going to happen and I just wish them all the best in the first division next year as I do to Johnny Ferreira at VFA,” added Kerr.
Meanwhile, Black Leopards have confirmed their technical team for the 2021/22 season. Morgan Shivambu will be the head coach assisted by Mongezi Bobe and Lucky Nelukau.
