Notoane names preliminary squad for Tokyo Olympics

Coach David Notoane has named a pool of 40 players to form part of the official U23 national team Olympic preliminary squad.

The coach has included Percy Tau, Themba Zwane, Mothobi Mvala, Ronwen Williams, Mosa Lebusa, Ricardo Goss and Thapelo Morena as the over-aged players who might get selected to the final tournament in Tokyo. Each country is allowed a maximum of three over-aged players.

England-based trio Khanya Leshabela (Leicester City), Siyabonga Ligendza (Cardiff City) and Kgaogelo Chauke (Southampton) have also been included in the team while the rest of the squad consists of players who have been called up to previous camps over the past two years.

The coach is expected to announce his final squad in the next two months before traveling to Japan to participate in the international competition.
