After announcing his squad to face Sao Tome e Principe on March 27 and 31, Bafana Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki also updated members of the media gathered at SABC Radio Park on Thursday morning about Tom Barkhuizen.
Ntseki has been monitoring the Preston North End winger and showed major interest in having him come to represent South Africa.
“Thomas is playing very well, we asked Kamohelo Mokotjo about him after they played together when Brentford played Preston North End and he was impressed by him,” said Ntseki.
“We are communicating with the player, his agent and his team and he is invited to be part of this camp.”
Bafana will assemble on March 22 and will train at Sandton Sports Club.
Ntseki continued: “He has been invited over for the camp to train with us while we sort out his documents so if he is happy and wants to represent us then he will come play for us in the future.”
The coach explained that he hasn’t been able to go over to talk to the player face to face but said he hopes the team manager deals with all logistics for him to be able to go over and watch the player in action while engaging in further conversations about his future with Bafana Bafana.
