SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo says his defenders Luke Fleurs and Clayton Daniels worked tirelessly to frustrate and manage the in-form Bongi Ntuli who AmaZulu rely too much on for goals.
When Ntuli doesn’t find the back of the net, AmaZulu are likely to lose a match as the striker has proven to be the key man for Usuthu in front of goal this season.
The 28-year-old has scored 10 of the Usuthu’s 11 goals in the Absa Premiership. Ntuli contributed in the 4 wins AmaZulu sealed this season a result SuperSport knew that shutting him down was key.
“Ntuli didn’t have any sniff at goal because they (Fleurs and Daniels) managed him very well, Fluers is a very intelligent player, he stabilises, him and Daniels they were brilliant, “said Tembo.
Fluers walked away with the Man of the Match award after putting in a good shift to keep Ntuli quiet as SuperSport beat AmaZulu 2-0 over the weekend. However, the Matsatsantsa mentor is demanding consistency from the player.
“I am very happy with him but I am very demanding, I want him to be a little bit consistent, he has missed about four games after playing four good games and now he is back again,” he said.
After 18 games played, the KwaZulu Natal side find themselves in 14th position on 17 points with only 4 wins, 5 draws and 9 defeats.
