Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic has played down talks of him possibly winning the Golden Boot award come end of the season.
The Amakhosi sniper netted a perfect hattrick in their last outing against Bloemfontein Celtic which saw him become the joint top goal scorer with 8 goals alongside Knox Mutizwa and Peter Shalulile in the Absa Premiership.
Nurkovic, however, insists that he’s just doing what he’s getting paid to do at the club and believes there’s still a long way to go before talking about the Golden Boot award.
“Well this is my job but very excited, just happy for the team… we are trying to collect as many as possible points, yeah and in the end we will see,” said the Serbian striker.
“There are still a lot of games to play and I’m just gonna try and do my job as best as possible and we will see.”
Chiefs will next travel to Harry Gwala Stadium to face 2019 Telkom Knockout losing finalists Maritzburg United on Sunday, December 22.
