Former Baroka head coach Wedson Nyirenda has been appointed as coach of Zambian side Lusaka Dynamos on a short term deal.
Nyirenda joins The Elite until the end of the current season which resumes from Saturday, 18 July until September 16.
The move comes just a few months after he resigned as head coach at Bakgaga where he led them to their Telkom Knockout triumph in 2018.
“It is great to be associated with Lusaka Dynamos. For the next 3 months we shall work tirelessly to see that we end this current season in the best position. If everyone works accordingly, and pull in the same direction we can achieve the unthinkable. God will guide us through,” said Nyirenda.
The former Kaizer Chiefs striker was head coach of the Zambian national team from 2017 to 2018 and also worked with the Zambian Under-20 team that won both the Cosafa Under-20 Championship in South Africa and the African Youth Championship in Lusaka.
He has also won the Zambian League title with ZESCO United and the Mozambican title with Ferroviario de Beira.
The Zambian club said in a statement that Nyirenda’s current contract could be extended to next season.
