ODG wary of wounded Buccaneers

Highhlands Park head coach Owen Da Gama anticipates a tough battle when they take on Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership match at Makhulong Stadium tonight (19:30).

The Buccaneers come into the match following a shock 1-0 defeat by newly promoted side Stellenbosch at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday. The defeat leaves Pirates in 10th position with just two wins in eight matches.

The Lions of the North on the other hand have had a decent start to the season with 4 wins from 8 matches sitting at position 4.

“Yah ahead of a wounded Pirates that doesn’t come easy hei. They are a fantastic team I mean they had 27 chances and it was just not their day, but they are a fantastic team and it is going to be a very difficult and tough game,” said Da Gama ahead of the clash.

“For me every game we play, the boys are learning something, they are growing and gaining more and more experience so playing against Pirates and having played Sundowns six days earlier is another experience for the boys,” he said.

The tickets for the match are sold out.

This is the only Absa Premiership match this evening.
