Leicester City have unveiled Patson Daka.
The Zambian striker joins the Foxes from Red Bull Salzburg on a £23m deal. Daka has signed a five-year deal with the club as he takes the next step in his career.
He scored 34 goals in 42 appearances to help Salzburg win the Austrian title and Cup double last season.
“I’m so, so excited to join this great, historic club. It has been my dream and I’m so happy and looking forward to what’s coming next,” Daka told LCFC TV.
“I have followed Leicester from the time they won the league. I feel it is the perfect place for me, because it’s a team that fights for titles. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I feel ready to face this new challenge.
“I will give my best for the club each and every day, and I look forward to seeing the Leicester City fans inside the stadium soon.”
The forward becomes the latest star to join a Premier League club from Salzburg. Liverpool trio of Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino also came through the same system.
He becomes the latest Zambian to make a high-profile move in the current transfer window. Fashion Sakala has already signed for Glasgow Rangers while Enock Mwepu is linked with a number of big teams in Europe’s top five leagues.
Leicester are looking to widen their depth up-front with Jamie Vardy being injury prone. Daka is expected to play a crucial role in the next few seasons as the Foxes continue fighting to be amongst the top four clubs in England’s elite division.
