The Egyptian Football Association has announced that foreign goalkeepers will still not be allowed to feature in any division in Egypt.
Just last month, the EFA had announced that each team can register five foreign players in the squad, no matter the position, allowing the return of foreign keepers for the first time since 2009.
The decision faced criticism from the coaches all around Egypt as it will hinder the development of the local keepers.
After discussions, the EFA retracted their decision on Sunday, while still allowing five foreign players in the squad per each team in the Premier League, two in the second division, and one in the third division.
Moreover, the EFA announced that the Cairo derby could take place in Ramadan, subject to the security approval, ahead of the return-leg of the league season.
The Whites were supposed to host Al Ahly in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday, December 28; however, it was postponed just less than a week before the encounter.
