Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango says the Brazilians have switched their focus to CAF Champions League and believes the team have a good chance of going all the way after missing out in the semifinals last season.
Sundowns who clinched their maiden CAF Champions League title back in 2016, currently top Group B with 4 points after 2 games played and ahead of their massive clash away to USM Alger on Saturday, Oyango says their short-term goal is to win the group though he acknowledged it will not be easy.
“It’s tough but we are still in it and we are leading the group,” he days.
“We believe if we can get maximum points in Algeria and at home we will be in the quarterfinals.”
“We wanna go as far as we can – we were knocked out last time in the semifinals so we believe we can go to the finals but it’s not easy this time around there’s a lot of quality teams so we have to keep grinding,” stated the Ugandan international.
