Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows defender Luvhengo ‘Papi’ Mungomeni has officially confirmed that he has joined Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Mikhado FC.
The 35-year-old stated that he joins the club to assist them in all departments including playing.
“I have joined Mikhado FC to assist in all departments including playing. If I become fit I will play. I will be assisting with all my knowledge of football and wish them the best this season as they look to get promotion to GladAfrica Championship,” Papi wrote on his Facebook account.
The veteran defender expressed his gratitude to the club chairman and Mikhado family for the warm welcome.
“Thanks to the Chairman of Mikhado Football Club, coaches and Mikhado family for the partnership,” he adds.
Papi may be 35 now, but he can lead the Limpopo-based side’s troops with aplomb given a chance to prove himself.
His experience will come in handy to help his club to avoid repeats of last season’s mischief, as Mikhado failed to secure the second division spot during the 2020 ABC Motsepe play-offs.
