Patson Daka nominated for prestigious award in Austria


Zambian striker Patson Daka has been nominated for the Bruno award in the player of the year category.

Daka will have to see off competition from Nikolai Baden-Frederiksen, who moved from WSG Tirol to Vitesse Arnheim and Rapid strikers Ercan Kara, to win the award.

The Bruno is one of the most prestigious honours in Austrian football. For the 25th time, the election will be held by the Association of Football (VdF).

The players of the professional leagues as well as the players of the Austrian national team are entitled to vote.

The Bruno Gala will take place on 4 October in the Wiener Stadthalle.

The Zambian international scored 27 goals in 28 league games in the 2020/2021 season and also chipped in with seven assists ending the season as the top scorer in the Bundesliga.

He already won the Skysports Austrian Bundesliga player of the season, the official Austrian Bundesliga player of the season, and the golden boot.
