Paul Onuachu has won the 2020/21 Belgian Pro League Player of the Year and the Golden Boot award.
Onuachu was a force to be reckoned with this season scoring 33 league goals in 38 appearances for Belgian giants, KRC Genk. The striker helped the club finish as runners-up to Club Brugge who have successfully defended their title.
With 33 league goals to his name, the 26-year-old has also scooped the Golden Boot award as he stood head and shoulders above his rivals.
His scintillating performances for Genk have also earned him a return to the Nigeria national team. He made his return in fine style scoring two crucial goals in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho in March which helped the Super Eagles qualify for the 2021 Afcon in Cameroon next year.
The forward joined Genk from Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland in 2019 and he has established himself as one of the top strikers in Belgium.
With two years left on his current deal, it remains to be seen if the striker will be at the Cristal Arena beyond this season with reports indicating that a host of clubs across Europe are lining up for his signature.
