French midfielder Paul Pogba has praised his teammate Edinson Cavani for the impact he has made at Manchester United.
He gave massive credit to the forward for the turn around in fortunes at Old Trafford saying his experience, hard work and discipline has had a very good impact on the team on and off the field.
The experienced Uruguay international joined United on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, where he enjoyed a great career with 200 goals in 301 games and won a number of Ligue 1 titles for the French giants.
There were some doubts about Cavani’s suitability for a more competitive league such as the English Premier League, especially as he joined the Red Devils after his peak years in France.
Speaking to the media, Pogba said the striker has made a strong start to life in England and hailed his work rate saying his influence is certainly rubbing off the rest of the squad.
“Its impressive that someone like him is focused in training and in the game it just shows the hard work and he’s 33 years old he’s been winning playing well, top class player and he’s here working hard. He’s good for the young players to see that, to see the guy here who’s done so much and he works so hard.
“He gives this positive energy, the mind-set of hard work and the experience, it’s been great to have him. Everyone is learning from him, from the oldest guy to the youngest.
“When I see him and even if he’s speaking in Spanish, just the energy that he brings to the team.”
Cavani has played 13 league games scoring four times and assisting another two strikes so far. He has played a role in Manchester United’s resurgence in the Premier League as they continue to challenge for the title.
