DStv Premiership trio Elias Pelembe, Edmilson Dove and Manuel Kambala have all been left out of the Mozambique 25-member squad for the upcoming Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

Mozambique coach Horácio Gonçalves named his squad ahead of the Group D second-round matches against Cote d’Ivoire on September 3 at the Estádio Nacional do Zimpeto in Maputo and Malawi on September 7 at Orlando Stadium – their home game.

In recent years, Royal AM veteran, Pelembe, Baroka midfielder Manuel Kambala and Cape Town City defender Edmilson Dove have been part of the squad, but this time around they miss out.

Kambala scored Baroka’s first goal of the new Premiership season at the weekend against Marumo Gallants, while Pelembe made his Royal AM debut against Swallows.

Edmilson recently recovered from a long-term injury.
