Pelembe: You can’t predict the Nedbank Cup

Bidvest Wits winger Domingues Pelembe believes it will take some doing for the Clever Boys to overcome Chippa United in tonight’s Nedbank Cup encounter.

The two Absa Premiership sides will battle for a quarterfinals spot at Bidvest Stadium, 19:30.

“Yho! I think it’s gonna be a tough game you know especially being on (both) the League and the Nedbank, you know teams they are strong and all of them they want to go to the next round, “said Pelembe.

Pelembe admits that the Johannesburg based side is still chasing both the League title and the Nedbank Cup.

“Ja we are still running for everything and we just need to keep ourselves there and see at the end of the season what’s gonna happen. Everything is possible, we cannot say yes or no but everything is possible.”-Pelembe.

“We just need to take it game by game, and now we are focused on the game tonight, after that we are gonna think about the next game. We need to think game by game. We know it’s not gonna be easy but it’s not impossible, anything can happen, “added Pelembe.

The Mozambican superstar says he doesn’t agree with those who believe with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs out of the Cup, this means it will now be won by either them or Mamelodi Sundowns.

“For me I don’t agree. I think any team that is still in this competition can win it. You know this is a competition that most of the time you never know who is gonna win.

“All the teams that are there they are there because they won, everything is possible,

“I cannot say who’s gonna win, all the teams that are still in this competition they can still win it.”

Pelembe says the Chilli Boys shouldn’t be underestimated.

“I think any team can do something not only us. There are so many strong teams still, there is still Celtic…Ja there are teams that are still there they can do.

“It’s not only Wits or Chippa, because you will never know this is a competition that surprises you know, “he concluded.
