People will always complain – Salah

After recovering from the Covid 19 virus a few days ago Mohammed Salah has resumed full training and is expected to be in the match day squad for the English Champions when they take on Atalanta on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League.

Salah had to be withdrawn from the Egypt squad that took on Togo in the recent international break.

The attacker has been receiving a lot of criticism for his form and speaking to British publication Liverpool Echo, the Egyptian forward downplayed any negative effects the criticism might have on his game.

Some people will always complain. They will say ‘he is good at that, but he is not good in that part’. You just need to carry on and do your things and I am very proud that I am doing that,” said Salah.

Portuguese winger Diogo Jota has hit the ground running since his arrival from Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring 8 goals in all competitions since his arrival at Liverpool, this includes a goal he scored this past weekend against Leicester City in the absence of the 28-year-old who was still in quarantine. Salah has come out and heaped praise on his new teammate wishing for him to continue his form. “We are happy for him, as team-mates we are trying to push each other every day in training, so to see someone come in and score goals you feel also happy for him because you feel he is going to help your team and to make it easier for us up front.”

“Hopefully that will happen again and again and again. Scoring a few goals is a good way for him to start here maybe with confidence. To have someone else who can score goals is a great option for us. Now with Diogo we can play four together or we could still play three,” he concluded.

Liverpool host Atalanta at Anfield Stadium on match day 4 of the UEFA Champions League, this is a fixture they won in the reverse fixture on match day 3 away.
