Percy Tau’s Club Brugge officially declared champions

In March FARPost had reported that there were recommendations made by the Belgian league governing body that proposed that the 2019/20 season be ended and Club Brugge named champions, while Zulte-Waregem who finished last would be relegated to the Proximus League in Belgium.

The proposal has been accepted and Club Brugge has officially been named champions of the Belgian Pro league.

This will be another milestone for South African striker Percy Tau who wins yet another league title two years after leaving South Africa where he left as a champion with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2017.

Brugge has once again secured UEFA Champions League football for the 2020/21 season as they add yet another title to make it 16 Belgium league championships now.

Tau, who turned 26 on Wednesday, played 18 of Brugge’s 29 League matches.

His future is still unclear at the moment but he will be happy to win silverware less that 24 months after making a move abroad.
