Highlands Park hitman Peter Shalulile is three goals away from reaching his target of 15 goals for the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season.
The Namibian international has scored four goals for the ‘Lions of the North’ in his last two games, a brace against GladAfrica Championship side Uthongathi in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 and also versus Bloemfontein Celtic with Lindokuhle Mbatha providing three assists for the striker.
“Peter is our top goal scorer so we have to help him as his teammates so that he can be able to catch up with the PSL Top scorers because ever since we started the league , he was the leading scorer so we have to try and help him be at the top again,” said Mbatha.
With their 2-0 win over Celtic on Saturday at home, Highlands moved back into the top 8 with 29 points after 21 matches while Shalulile jumped to third the PSL top scorers’ charts on 11 goals, only 3 behind the league’s top scorers Gabadinho Mhango.
“If you work hard and push yourself, you will be able to achieve your goals. I set goals for myself, which is scoring 15 goals. Anything beyond that will be a bonus,” said Shalulile.
“My teammates always encourage me to keep pushing – basically this is all about teamwork and I am very happy to be able to score goals that do a difference for my club,” concluded the Highlands striker.
