Orlando Pirates will be without their influential midfielder Fortune Makaringe as they tackle Black Leopards in an Absa Premiership clash at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday (15:00).
The central midfielder picked his fourth yellow card of the season last week against Bidvest Wits in a Nedbank Cup last 32 game and as a result will miss the Leopards encounter and serve a one-match suspension.
Makaringe has been instrumental for Bucs in the middle of the park this season with 3 assists and 1 goal in all competitions.
Meanwhile, in-form Pirates hitman Gabadinho Mhango returns to action after he had to watch the Wits game from the stands due to a one-match suspension.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) top goal scorer with 14 goals is now back for the Soweto giants as they look to close the gap on their rivals and League leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
The Malawian international was named PSL Player of the Month for January.
“It’s good being back. It was not easy to watch the game from the stands. It was sad for me because it’s a cup and to go to the next round we had to win,” said Mhango.
“It won’t be an easy game [against Leopards] but as a team we just have to get the points,” concluded Mhango.
