Orlando Pirates managed to keep their hopes of finishing third in the DStv Premiership after defeating Baroka 2-1 at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.
For all their attacking possession, the Soweto giants struggled to convert their clear cut chances in the first 15 minutes of the game and had a period of good command of the clash.
However, the hosts’ confidence grew better as they found the back of the net in the 45th minute with a goal from Dewnin Farmer.
In the last three minutes of referees’ additional time, just before half-time, Bucs equalized from a set piece well taken by Gabadinho Mhango.
The Sea Robbers came back more spirited in the second period, trying by all means to mount pressure on Bakgaga which led to a goal by Terence Dzvukamanja in the 88th minute of the encounter.
In other results, it was the end of the road for Black Leopards after suffering a 3-1 loss at the expense of Cape Town City.
Lidoda Duvha will have to contend with GladAfrica Championship football next season.
