Pitso Mosimane of Mamelod Sundowns was all smiles at the end of the 90 minutes of their encounter against Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday.
The Brazilians mentor had just witnessed his charges survive a scare and ran out 2-1 winners in the semifinal of the Telkom Knockout.
Hlompho Kekana and Gaston Sirino netted for the visitors, but the latter almost ruined things for the Tshwane outift when he was given his marching orders late on by Victor Gomes for a bad tackle.
“We played it with experience, in as much as they are a good team – good players, good coach, but this is (more like a) Champions League game, we know how to play this game,” said Mosimane.
Now Sundowns await the winner of Sunday’s clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United at Mbombela Stadium.
