Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has shared his thoughts on the contentious issue of whether Judas Moseamedi’s goal at the death for Maritzburg United in the Telkom Knockout final on Saturday was offside or not.
Moseamedi scored what could have been an equaliser, with the Brazilians – the eventual champions, leading 2-1 at the time, at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“I don’t know if it’s offside or not… if it’s not offside, I benefited and I have no shame,” said Mosimane.
“Some people have been getting all these benefits. I will get them… I want them for 5 games in a row I have no shame in that.
“The Journalist Koena (Moabelo) asked me. He said, ‘coach, do you think in the 92nd minute they scored? I said, ‘who cares?’. I don’t care. If you benefit, it’s about time. In this PSL league, people benefit and I’m happy to go three more games (benefiting). If it’s not offside, I don’t care, because I’m waiting to benefit also – three more (games). People have benefited in (a) series – 5 games in a row, so I want to benefit also and I’m not ashamed, because it’s a different kind of a game, you know,” he said.
One of the journalists then claimed to Mosimane that “the goal was offside” upon checking the replay, but in a cheeky manner ‘Jingles’ challenged him to double check if he’s 100% correct and if not, the Journalist should write an article about it and apologise.
“Okay, have you asked the question to the others who benefit? No, cold nerves, don’t worry about me. I’m happy. I don’t care. Was it offside? It was not? Are you sure? If it is, you gonna write in an article that, ‘I made a mistake (as a Journalist)’ neh. You must apologise if it is (offside).
