Ahead of their blockbuster fixture against Algerian giants USM Alger away from home tonight, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane took the opportunity to fire shots directed at rivals Kaizer Chiefs once more.
Amakhosi are arguably the biggest club in the country alongside Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns and ironically Chiefs are the only team without a CAF Champions League trophy out of the ‘Big 3’
Mosimane did not waste an opportunity to once again rubbed it in their face.
“As much as we are competing domestically but we also now playing at a different level and we expect the big boys to come (Pirates and Chiefs) we know Pirates always pitches they never shy to go in International programs hence we all have a Star on top of the badge” said Mosimane ahead of the 18:00 kick-off match.
Chiefs were ones banned for three years from participating in continental competitions after famously pulling out of a fourth-round match against Ismaili of Egypt citing domestic fixture congestion.
There is also a perception that the team does not take the CAF Competitions seriously given their performances on the African stage.
