Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed the club will be active in the January transfer window and praised Sundowns for moving away from signing a host of players all at once.
The former Bafana Bafana coach says the Brazilians have to beef up the squad with their program being so tight and also took the opportunity to remind rival teams that Sundowns are the reigning League Champions.
“Yeah I would like to have 2 more players, you must remember we haven’t been buying players neh, I only got 2 [in the previous transfer window].
“I only got (Mauricio) Affonso (pictured below) and Sammy Seabi who’s now injured and still learning the ropes so kahle kahle the only person who’s got an impact on our signings in June is Affonso,” said Mosimane.
“Who else did we bring? Nobody. So maybe we can bring 2 now to make it 3 signings for the year, we have improved from 13, 11 [signings] we’ve done well neh so am happy we topping the group we’ve won the (Telkom Knockout) cup already, okay the other one we were in the semifinals (MTN8) the two trophies are in Tshwane at this point in time and the League trophy is still with us, nobody has got the trophy it’s only those two teams at this point in time,” continued the former SuperSport United coach, referring to Matsatsantsa, who are the MTN8 champions.
“In future okay maybe but we talking about the current status quo not a wish okay that’s the situation that’s the current status now at this point in time Liverpool looks like winning the trophy neh but the trophy is still at Etihad Stadium [Manchester City] but it looks like going to the Kop we don’t know we’ll see,” concluded Jingles
