Liverpool suffered their first defeat in 45 English Premier League (EPL) games after Watford hammered them 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Vicarage Road.
In spite of the loss, Klopp’s men are still 22 points ahead of second-placed Manchester City and need four wins in their 10 remaining fixtures to seal their first League title in 30 years.
However, Klopp insists the title is not won yet.
“What the boys did so far is exceptional, but it is not over,” said Klopp.
“We did not expect the number of games we won. It was never easy, and it will never be easy, so now let’s carry on.”
It was the Senegalese winger Ismaïla Sarr who played a crucial role in Watford’s win as he netted a brace to end the ‘Reds’ 44-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
“The biggest surprise for me is that Watford is fighting to stay in the league. Now is the moment when everybody is fighting like crazy, “added Klopp
“We don’t think it is the biggest catastrophe in world football. We feel the defeat really and now we have the chance to show the reaction again,”concluded the German mentor.
