Ayanda Patosi was voted as the Man of the Match after an impressive performance for FC Foolad this past weekend.
The attacking midfielder played a crucial role as Foolad thumped Al Ain 4-0 in a Asian Champions League qualifier on Saturday.
Patosi has played 17 league games this season, scoring four goals and assisting another two strikes in the Persian Gulf Pro League.
With four minutes left before half time, Salah Hardani found the back of the net to give Foolad a well deserved lead going into the break. Brazilian striker Luciano Mendes doubled the lead for the home side in the 49th minute before Patosi made it 3-0 seven minutes later.
Mendes completed his brace in the 86th minute to seal an important victory for the home side. The victory has taken the club into the Asian Champions League group stage.
Patosi has been impressive since making the switch to the Iranian from Cape Town City and he has forced his way into the starting line-up. He initially joined the club on loan before signing a two-year deal at the end of 2020.
The Cape Town-born star has spent the majority of his career outside the boarders of his native country. He spent six years in Belgium where he featured for Lokeren and made 145 appearances in the Belgian Pro League. He then returned to South Africa to join Cape Town City before moving abroad again. City loaned the attacker to Baniyas and Esteghlal before making the permanent move to Foolad.
On Wednesday evening, Foolad have an away trip to Al Sadd in the Champions League before hosting Al Wehdat three days later in the same competition.
