Player of the Weekend: Jermaine Seoposenwe

SC Braga defeated Famalicao 2-0 in the derby on Sunday evening and Jermaine Seoposenwe was the stand out performer.

Seoposenwe had already starred on match day one when Braga thrashed Gil Vicente 10-0 at home. She scored two goals and assisted two more strikes for the 1A Divisao log leaders.

Braga have now accumulated six points in their first two games. What is more impressive is the fact that Miguel Santos’ side have netted a staggering 12 league goals without conceding a single strike in the first two games of the new campaign.

Portuguese midfielder Vitoria Almeida opened the scoring in the 51st minute after a beautiful pass by Seoposenwe.

The South African star sealed all three points in the 70th minute after converting a penalty.

At international level, the 27-year-old has played 78 games for Banyana Banyana and scored 16 goals.

She was part of the group of players who reached the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) final where the Cosafa nation lost to Nigeria on penalties. Seoposenwe also played in the 2019 Fifa World Cup where South Africa were debutants under the guidance of coach Desiree Ellis.

Up next for Braga is an trip to Albergaria on Sunday afternoon.
