In yet another solid 90 minutes display for Portuguese LIGA BPI side SC Braga Banyana Banyana midfielder Jermaine Seoposenwe capped off her performance with her first league goal for the club as they hammered Valadares 5-1 in the league on Saturday evening.
The attacking midfielder joined Braga in August after leaving Spanish side Real Betis with her deal finished with the Spanish Primera division side.
The Banyana Banyana international is played in a more central midfield role at Braga and she is the glue that holds the team together linking the defence with the attack. Braga has been running riot this season with convincing displays throughout the campaign, on match day 4 they smashed Gil Vicente 8-0 and that was after beating Boavista 7-0 on match day 3 of the season.
Braga have now moved up to top spot on the table with 15 points earned from the 5 games played so far giving them a 100% record this season with second placed Famalicao having the same record with an inferior goal difference from that of Braga. The Portuguese club has gone all out this season to put together the best players across the globe in their bid to compete for all domestic titles and trophies in the 2020/21 season.
This is Seoposenwe’s third club in Europe having played in Lithuania with Gintra Universitetas and most recently Real Betis in Spain. The midfielder also has a wealth of international experience having played with South Africa’s national team 78 times and scored 16 goals in the process. Her influence in the Braga team is clear as she is one of a few players to have played 90 minutes in most of the club’s recent games so far this season in the league.
