South African U23 winger Kobamelo Kodisang is on a good run of form after producing another Man of the Match display for Braga B.
The 21-year-old is amongst Mzansi’s best performing overseas-based players this season after scoring in yet another game in the league. He made the starting XI on Sunday and played the entire 90 minutes for Braga B, who continued their good run of form in the league with a 4-0 win against Aguaí away from home.
This was Kodisang’s third goal in three games and with his total of five goals and five assists he has now contributed to 10 goals for the team this season.
Kodisang has started the new year on a high with his second goal in 2021 as continues to raise his hand for promotion to the club’s senior squad.
National U23 team coach David Notoane will be pleased to see one of his regular players doing well leading up to the Olympics set to be staged in Tokyo in July this year. South Africa qualified for the global event after finishing third in the 2020 U23 AFCON in Egypt and the former Platinum Stars player was one of the key figures in the squad.
It has been two and a half years since the winger left South Africa to join Portuguese third tier side Sanjoanense on loan from Bidvest Wits back in 2018.
In a total of 23 games for Sanjoanense, he scored four league goals. His experience at international level has played a big role in his development as he has played in three youth Fifa World Cups and four youth Caf AFCONs since bursting into the scene with coach Molefi Ntseki’s U17 team that went to the Fifa World Cup in Chile back in 2015.
Braga currently sit top of the log standings in the Campeonato with 31 points from 11 games.
