Liam Jordan put in another impressive shift for Helsingor this past weekend.
The former Bidvest Wits forward scored a brace as the Danish 1st Division side salvaged a point with a 3-3 home draw against Silkeborg on Saturday evening.
Magnus Mattsson opened the scoring for the visitors in the 12th minute before Jordan equalised for the hosts in the 18th minute.
Alexander Lind put the visitors ahead for the second time in the game before Jordan equalised again before half time.
The hosts finally took the lead in the 64th minute thanks to a beautiful volley by Danish midfielder Oliver Kjaergaard. Nicklas Rojkjar scored an additional time header to salvage a point for Silkeborg.
This was the striker’s third and fourth goals for Helsingor since joining them from rivals HB Koge at the beginning of the year. Jordan had already netted three goals for Koge in the first half of the campaign which has taken his overall tally to seven for the 2020/21 campaign.
It’s been a journey of mixed fortunes for Jordan who has been making strides in Denmark since leaving Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon in 2018.
He has made over 100 appearances in the Danish 1st Division where he has established himself as one of the key players in the entire division.
Helsingor narrowly missed out on promotion to the Superliga after finishing the campaign in fourth spot on the table. Their last game of the season is against Esbjerg on Wednesday evening.
