AC Milan got a big cup win against their arch-rivals Inter Milan on Sunday afternoon.
The Rossoneri lost the first leg 2-1, but they turned the tie around and got a resounding 4-2 home win which got them a step closer to getting their first silverware since their formation in the 2018/19 season.
South African international Refiloe Jane started and played the entire 90 minutes for the home side.
Veronica Boquete scored a brace in the first 15 minutes before Gloria Marinelli pulled one back for the visitors to make it 2-1 going into the final 30 minutes of the encounter.
Natasha Dowie put the game beyond Inter’s reach when she scored two goals in 10 minutes to make it 4-1 to the Rossoneri. Caroline Moller scored in additional time, but it was already too late as Milan progressed with a 5-4 aggregate score.
Elsewhere, AS Roma also booked their spot in the final after defeating Juventus. On the 30th of May, Roma will face AC Milan in the final of the prestigious cup competition.
The two sides will first square off in the league this coming weekend. Milan are currently second on the log with 48 points from 18 games. They trail log-leaders Juventus by six points going into the next round of games.
This will be Jane’s first final since joining the Italian side from Canberra United in 2019.
