Banyana Banyana midfielder Refiloe Jane has had an incredible year since signing for Italian Serie A Femminino side AC Milan in 2019.
Jane has established herself as a regular for the Serie A giants as they have transformed from a mid-table finishing team to a top-four team in the past two seasons and Jane was a big influence last season in their decent run in the league.
Coach Maurizio Ganz has had a lot of belief in the player they refer to as ‘Gattuso’ in Italy as she has dominated the midfield for Milan in the past campaign.
Jane has continued her great form this season featuring in all the first five games played so far this season in Italy.
The Soweto-born star opened her account this season with a well-taken goal to give Milan the lead as they thumped Empoli Women 3-0 in a league match on Saturday.
Milan sit in third place with 12 points in the league after five games played so far. Juventus sits top of the log with five points followed by Sassuolo who have earned 13 points so far.
Jane keeps on making history having already been the first South African female player to play and score in Italy, now the midfielder is aiming at being the first South African female player to win silverware in the European nation.
