After his performance in Sweden this past weekend the Ajax Cape Town product is FARPost’s player of the weekend.
In January Tashreeq Matthews moved from German giants Borussia Dortmund to Varbergs BoIS signing a three-year-deal with the newly promoted side.
The attacker started well in Sweden scoring his first goal in the Swedish cup earlier this year and now he has scored his first league goal, netting in Varbergs’s 3-3 away draw against Elsfborg.
Matthews started and played 80 minutes in the game before being substituted by fellow South African Keanin Ayer for the last 10 minutes.
The winger has played a total of six games so far this season for Varbergs and will be hoping to get more minutes under his belt in what is his first season playing first team football.
