It took only 12 days for Mauricio Pochettino to win his first trophy as manager of Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine mentor guided PSG to a 2-1 win over Marseille in the French Super Cup on Wednesday, for his first ever trophy as a manager.
Brazilian star Neymar scored in the second half on his return from injury to add to Mauro Icardi’s first half opener.
Dimitri Payet pulled one back for Marseille in the 89th minute when he latched onto Florian Thauvin’s cross, but PSG held firm to give new coach Pochettino his second win in three games with the capital side.
Pochettino, who last managed Tottenham Hotspur, had previously been beaten in the English Carabao Cup final in 2015 and the Champions League final four years later.
