GladAfrica Championship side Polokwane City have confirmed the appointment of Innocent Mayoyo as co-coach alongside Machete Willy Moloto.
This follows the departure of Johnny Ferreira who has now taken over at Venda Football Academy.
Moloto was assistant to Ferreira last season, while Mayoyo was in charge at Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League side, Sivutsa Stars.
The pair started pre-season with the team three weeks ago in preparation for the 2021/22 season.
“They will be working together and we hope their experience will help the team need to prepare,” club COO Tincy Tema told FARPost.
“Other than that, we are prepared to give them the support they need and like we have said in the meeting that we had with them that to say we will be happy if they can get the results that we need. We are happy with the two coaches.
“In terms of players we haven’t finalized, but there are quite a few players that we are looking at. I guess by the end of the week we will be getting a report from the coaches because we gave them the mandate to get good players. But at the moment they are still finalizing,” he added.
Rise and Shine recently parted ways with senior players such as Mpho Mvelase, Nicholas Motloung, Salulani Phiri, Cyril Chibwe, Mthokozisi Nene, Charlton Mashumba, Elias Pelembe and Vusimuzi Mngomezulu.
