Absa Premiership side Polokwane City have completed the signing of Jomo Cosmos defender Sicelo Hlatshwayo.
The 27-year-old Newcastle born former Mpumalanga Black Aces player has penned an 18-month deal plus a one year option with the Limpopo side.
Ezenkosi owner and chairman Dr Jomo Sono confirmed he has released the player.
“Ja Sicelo I released him my friend,” Sono said.
“I can’t have a player in the grandstand getting paid more than the one who is playing, no. He is a defender. Even the other one Ntshangase who was playing for Polokwane against (Orlando) Pirates, he’s also from Cosmos. He signed that very same week, I also released him.
“We’ve released many players. Even this one Sicelo I released him for free, we don’t have money so we have to save costs (by releasing them for free).”
