Polokwane City have confirmed the appointment of Macdonald Makhubedu as their new head for the upcoming season.
Makhubedu was in charge of Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League Champions, Mpumalanga United (former known as Acornbush United) during the past season and started at his new role on Monday.
He was also in charge at GladAfrica Championship side TS Sporting but was dismissed in January this year following some poor results.
“We can confirm that we have appointed Macdonald Makhubedu as our head coach, but we are still going to make an announcement in terms of other people that we want to bring,” club CEO Tincy Tema told FARPost.
“We thought we should bring him (Makhubedu) now so that he can start working, especially that the league will be starting soon. But we are still going to make a formal announcement on the people that we shall have appointed to work with Mr Makhubedu.
“At the moment he is working with Willy Moloto as our assistant coach. We are still assessing a few players that are there as well but you know that most of them are the Under 23’s, so possibly on Monday next week get a full report from the technical team,” said Tema.
Rise and Shine recently parted ways with long serving assistant coach Bernard Molekwa who resigned.
