Cape Town City have announced the signing of Portuguese-Angolan international goalkeeper Hugo Marques.
The 35-year-old was with Portuguese side, SC Farense.
“The club is delighted to announce the signing of Portuguese-Angolan international goalkeeper Hugo Marques! Welcome Patrão,” said the ‘Citizens’ in a brief statement.
Marques has also played for Porto B and in the Caf Champions League for Clube Desportivo 1º de Agosto.
“I am very pleased to be here, the team has welcomed me well, the coach (Eric Tinkler), chairman (John Comitis), very nice guys,” said Marques.
“I am expected to perform because this is a big team with high expectations. And when I received a call to come to South Africa I didn’t think twice as the biggest teams need the biggest players and I am here to help the team.”
