Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana player Aubrey Modiba used his time during the off-season to plough back at his home village of Mentz, Limpopo.
Modiba, who recently won his first League title with Sundowns, partnered with his personal sponsor Adidas and Phuti Matt Foundation to donate full football equipment to a local team and his former primary school.
The Makgefola primary, where the 25-year-old started his schooling as well as his former amateur club, Hungry Lions were the beneficiaries of the donations.
“We tried to come up with an agreement to get these kids football kits, boots and all the stuff. to my former club Hungry Lions because it’s always nice to give back,
“It’s always nice to see happy faces from the players where I am from. We always try and visit as many communities as we can, not specifically where we are from but where we can help as much as we can – where they need our help we always try and help.
“So we will see where to now because we also have the Grant Kekana foundation which we are working together with but definitely we are still going to do more of good things for the community of Limpopo,” he said.
