The Premier Soccer League (PSL) have confirmed that the GladAfrica Championship Trophy will be handed to the Champions on the last day of the campaign, regardless of what transpires in Wednesday’s fixtures.

Log Leaders Ajax Cape Town are in with a chance to make a comeback to the elite league after two seasons in the first division.

A win against JDR Stars at Rand Stadium on Wednesday afternoon could see the ‘Urban Warriors’ confirm their return to the Absa Premiership if second-placed Swallows drop points in their match against Richards Bay.

Ajax have 54 points, while Swallows are on 51 points with two matches remaining.

“The PSL together with partners GladAfrica are putting final touches ahead of what is expected to be a thrilling finale of the GladAfrica Championship this coming weekend,” said the League in a statement.

“The league has also confirmed that irrespective of what transpires in Wednesday’s fixtures, the GladAfrica Championship trophy will be handed to the champions on Sunday, 30 August 2020,” read the statement.

Ajax will host Mbombela United in their last match while Swallows will play promotion hopefuls Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
